Pines is a refined single-storey residence defined by clarity, light, and material integrity. Designed for multigenerational living, its flexible layout balances privacy and connection while ensuring seamless accessibility. Natural light is maximised through precise orientation, supported by smart automation to enhance energy efficiency. Durable materials – blackbutt cladding polished concrete, stone, and natural wool – create a tactile and thermally responsive interior, complemented by hydronic underfloor heating for year-round comfort. The home’s relationship to its site is expressed through its north-eastern living spaces and western-facing pool, capturing the warmth of the sun throughout the day. At its heart, a sculptural outdoor retreat centred on a monolithic fireplace anchors the design, an elegant convergence of landscape, texture, and light.
