Stokes Street House

Flinders Stokes St

Architect: Michael Innes & Mod 3
Photography:
Scope: New construction

This family home was built in Flinders for interior designer, Billy Innes. The open plan design is complete with cathedral ceilings throughout and a separate living area for the kids. Entering the home, a secretly nailed Tasmanian Oak ceiling was built that flows elegantly to the outside. Inside is lined in plasterboard and highlighted with recycled collar ties while large format tiles were laid on the floors with a heated concrete slab underneath for warmth year-round.

On the exterior, Silvertop Ash was used for the cladding coated in Grey Mist to start the silvering process and the timber will be left to naturally weather and silver off over time, finished with double-glazed hardwood timber windows. Colorbond steel in Woodland Grey was selected for the roof, complete with PV solar panels and solar pool heating, creating energy for electricity and the optimum pool temperature.

This spectacular home has been featured on the front cover of House and Garden magazine.
