Main Ridge Studio Pool Pavilion
Architect: Russell Barrett Architects/ Griffiths Design Studio
Photography: Sharyn Cairns
Scope: New construction
For owners Gillianne and Allen Griffiths, this pool house couples as the office of Griffiths Design Studio where Gillianne runs her interior design business.
The exterior uses a combination of cladding and double-glazed windows and doors, fabricated from steel for a minimal appearance that amplifies the view of the pool. In order to comply with the local Bushfire Rating, the house is clad externally with compressed sheet lining boards. The pool is lined with black mosaic tiles and surrounded in honed bluestone pavers, complimenting the design of the house flawlessly.
Inside, the floors, walls and ceilings are complete with pre-finished engineered flooring, cut with immense precision and mitred to the cathedral ceiling providing a continuous and fluid feel. The joinery throughout is clad with Neolith porcelain, including the sinks, giving the impression of endless stone.
Complete with a sauna and wine cellar, this inspiring pool house was featured in Belle magazine. After completing this new build, renovations started on the existing house on the property to balance the allure
